Laser Sensors Precisely Measure Thickness

Flexible, precise, compact, LAS laser sensors are ideally suited for thickness measurements, quality-control, and process-supervision in machine construction, automation, chemical, and medical applications. In terms of measurement characteristics, dark objects are measurable as are objects behind a transparent sheet, and highly accurate distance measurements are feasible on various surfaces. As the series includes point lasers as well as line lasers, measurements on uneven surfaces do not present any difficulty. Measuring range spans from 10 mm to 13,000 mm with a resolution up to 2 μm and a linearity constant up to ±6 μm. A teach-in function provides further flexibility. Additionally, the sensors feature IP 67-class performance.
