VDM35 Series laser displacement sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs Inc., Twinsburg, OH, are offered with 6 m diffused and 30 m retroreflective modes and provide a 4–20 mA output proportionate to how close or far an object or reflector is from the sensor. The devices monitor and measure the distance between products to keep equal spacing and positioning. Sensors are available with an eye-safe Class 1 IR laser for sensing and a built-in Class 2 visible red laser for alignment. Applications including printing and converting, liquid level control, bin level control, profiling, and error proofing.
