Konica Minolta Sensing to Showcase Solutions for Efficiently Formulating, Evaluating, & Controlling the Color & Appearance of Plastic

RAMSEY, NJ -- At NPE2015, Booth #S38026, Konica Minolta Sensing Americas (KMSA) will demonstrate how the color and appearance of plastic can be formulated, evaluated, and controlled with less waste, time, and effort using leading technology solutions. Technology to be showcased includes advanced software, color measurement instrumentation, and an automated in-line color measurement system.

One of the most highly talked about solutions to be showcased is Colibri Color Management Suite software consisting of four modules for specifying, formulating, evaluating, and managing product color across the supply chain. This powerful solution enables users to perform smarter and reduce waste through its advanced capabilities. Its intuitive platform and comprehensive features make it easy to define and share product color specifications, match and correct colors, monitor measurement data at each facility in real time, and coordinate color seamlessly from design to manufacturer to finished product.

Dan Randall, director of sales at Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, explains, "We are pleased to showcase the most advanced suite of Colibri Color Management software. Using Colibri software, plastic formulators can expect to achieve higher performance in their color matching, reducing the number of samples and meeting customer demands for quick, accurate matches. This innovative, multi-flux method has proven to outperform competitive systems in most plastics applications, including transparent and translucent polymers."

Used with this software and SpectraMagic NX color quality control software, color measurement instruments for laboratory and manufacturing environments will be demonstrated, including bench-top spectrophotometers, portable spectrophotometers, and colorimeters. These high accuracy instruments measure opaque, transparent, and translucent samples of various sizes and forms, providing the data required to specify and control the color and appearance of products more effectively and ensure standards are being met.

In addition to instrumentation, Konica Minolta Sensing experts will demonstrate the NC-1 In-line Color Monitoring and Control System, an automated color measurement system built to measure the color of products continuously and accurately as they move down the production line. This high-speed system is the company's most advanced system because of its automated measurements and ability to deliver real-time measurement data. These capabilities enable users to identify and correct out-of-spec color immediately.
