Ircon, Santa Cruz, CA, offers an enhanced version of its Modline 5R IR thermometer with advanced signal detection and attenuation alarming capabilities. Designed for noncontact IR temperature measurement applications involving harsh industrial environments, the sensors use a dual-detector assembly that measures temperature comparing IR radiation levels in 2 wavelength bands; temperature readings are based on the ratio of the two signals. Because the sensors measure the ratio of radiation intensities at 2 bands rather than the absolute radiation intensity at one band, sensors are almost immune to error caused by loss of signal. Attenuation alarming capability lets you adjust the alarm sensitivity level.
