IR Source Stands Up To Moisture & Temperature

Most IR Sources are sensitive to moisture and need a breathing vent. However, not the Micro-Hybrid JSIR350-4 pulsable IR sources with hermetic packaging. The JSIR350-4 survives high humidity and temperatures up to +190°C.

Reported advantages include:

  • Faster modulation rates because of low time constant.
  • Membrane temperatures of up to 750 °C produce outstanding radiation characteristics.
  • Low power consumption due to a special protective gas filling makes the IR sources especially suitable for mobile applications such as respiratory gas analysis, measurement of alcohol, CO2 or methane.
  • Long life up to 10,000 hours.

The JSIR350 wideband IR sources are used with thermopiles, pyroelectric, and lead selenide (PbSe) detectors for gas analysis in applications including medical, refinery, mining, automotive, and semiconductor instrumentation.
