IR Detector Integrates Optical-Bandpass Filter

Opto Diode presents the BXT2-17TF, a single-channel, infrared (IR) detector with an integrated 4.67 µm optical bandpass silicon filter. The lead selenide (PbSe) cooled device provides notable and reliable sensitivity for industrial carbon monoxide (CO) detection in harsh environments.

The device has a minimum responsivity of 1.2 x 105 V/W with the active-element temperature controlled to -30°C. Housed in a standard TO37 can, the unit provides a 2-mm² active area. Absolute ratings for storage and operating temperatures range from -40°C to +85°C. Other applications include carbon monoxide gas analysis, environmental monitoring, process control systems, and industrial burner monitoring and control.
