Baumer Ltd., Southington, CT, offers the VeriSens smart vision sensor with IP69K-rated SS housings, shatterproof glass, and special connectors and seals that protect the sensors from washdown in food/beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, and cosmetic processing. VeriSens vision sensors use contour-based algorithms to provide edges that are more stable and reliable than edges found using gray-scale methods. The FEX processor calculates edges and eliminates data detection problems associated with changes in environmental conditions. Sensors feature 656 by 494 pixel CCD image sensors, integral lensing and lighting, an RS-485 interface (Ethernet is optional), and storage for up to 255 jobs during real-time sensor operation.
