The Primer Pack/IP wireless sensor networking (WSN) system from Arch Rock Corp., San Francisco, CA, uses a service-oriented architecture and runs native IP end-to-end to allow sensor nodes to communicate directly with other IP devices, local or across the Internet, on Ethernet, WiFi, 6LoWPAN, or other types of networks. Network managers will gain direct, real-time access to sensor nodes and the ability to apply a broad range of Internet management and security tools. Primer Pack/IP adds native IPv6 support to the sensor nodes, AES-128-based link-level encryption, node authentication, and extended data-management capabilities. Because the IPv6 protocol stack runs on the sensor nodes, you may choose either direct end-to-end IP access to the nodes or proxy access.
