The LCM300 tension and compression load cell from FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technology Inc., Irvine, CA, has a USB output option and is built for endurance, press, or inline applications. The device uses metal foil strain gauge technology, is 1.20 in. high and 1.00 in. in dia., weighs 2 oz., and has SS construction, male threads on both ends, and a 10 ft. 28 AWG 4-conductor shielded PVC cable. Nonlinearity is ±0.5%, deflection is 0.001 in. nominal. USB integration lets you monitor the sensor's output and eliminates the need for an analog amplifier, power supply, and display equipment. Software is included. Applications include medical, industrial ergonomic, and sports science research as well as welding, anchor testing, and hydraulic systems.
