IEEE Tech Report Aims To Stretch Battery Life

IEEE’s Technology Report on Wake-Up Radio details the breakthrough technology from the IEEE 802.11ba Standards Task Group that significantly extends the battery life of devices and sensors, particularly those that are part of the Internet of Things (IoT). Allegedly, with the projected growth of IoT devices exceeding 20 billion by 2020, Wake-Up Radio will greatly reduce the need for frequent recharging or replacement of batteries while still maintaining optimum device performance.
