IAP and Numerex Expand Working Relationship

ATLANTA /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Numerex Corp., a leading provider of full-service, highly secure machine-to-machine (M2M) network services and solutions, announced it has expanded its relationship with IAP Worldwide Services Inc. (IAP). The new relationship includes the purchase and incorporation of Numerex SX1 remote monitoring sensors into its emergency-response efforts. IAP is a leading international contractor, providing global mission support for the Department of Defense and other U.S. government agencies. Headquartered in Cape Canaveral, FL, it has project sites in over 100 locations worldwide.

"No one wants a disaster to threaten any area, but it's our job to anticipate what could happen and prepare a coordinated, rapid response. That's the best way we can serve our customers and those who may be impacted," said Chuck Vondra, IAP Vice President, Global Operations and Logistics. "Numerex works directly and indirectly with numerous emergency-management organizations and critical response teams around the world, many of whom use the same device. This makes for a better coordinated, more efficient communications effort and overall response plan. They're a proven partner, whose experience and products have been tested in the type of harsh conditions under which we are oftentimes called on to perform."

The SX1 is the smallest, most cost-effective battery-powered satellite-tracking tag available. The ruggedized device is designed to withstand harsh environmental extremes and has been awarded the highest certifications available in a satellite-tracking device. The SX1 delivers years of exceptional, uninterrupted service on a single field-replaceable lithium ion manganese dioxide battery and can be installed, activated, and operational in less than 1 min.

Numerex's global satellite data solutions provide real-time field-operative visibility to organizations when and where they need it. In addition to its work with IAP, Numerex provides satellite and cellular GPS tracking solutions to the American Red Cross and numerous federal and state government agencies and private organizations.

"The ability to see assets—whether they are on a dock, in a war zone, or spread across multiple states and agencies during a natural disaster—is invaluable," commented Mike Marett, Chief Operating Officer, Numerex. "IAP's selection of the SX1 remote monitoring sensor honors Numerex and is further proof of the quality of the Numerex technology as well as its ability to monitor assets effectively under the most difficult circumstances."
