HSI Sensing Brings Robust Product Lines to Sensors Expo

HSI Sensing will be showcasing its robust product lines at the 2017 Sensors Expo in San Jose, California June 27-29. HSI Sensing will be sharing the new Hazardous Location Industrial Control Sensors product line, recently expanded to include standard magnetic sensors and latching switches, as well as the new Sentinel high-security entry-point sensor with a UL 634 Level 2 listing.

The recently expanded Hazardous Location Industrial Control Sensors product line includes the leverless limit switch that activates in the presence of ferrous metal or steel, Spot On. This entire product line has been UL 1203, Class 1, Division 1 listed and is ATEX IECEx certified. HSI Sensing’s high-power, high-voltage reed switches are engineered for the unique demands of fluid processing applications.

Sentinel will also be on display at Sensors Expo, allowing for customers to see an elite sensor capable of monitoring highly sensitive areas. HSI Sensing is one of only five companies worldwide to achieve the prestigious UL 634 Level 2 listing.

“Sensors Expo is a great event for us to connect with customers and other innovators within the industry,” said Ryan Posey, CEO of HSI Sensing. “Having the opportunity to showcase our industry-changing expanded Hazardous Location Industrial Control Sensors, as well as Sentinel, makes for an exciting time and we look forward to it.”

UL, a global independent safety science company, introduced its UL 634 as the standard for all connectors and switches for use in burglar-alarm systems. The UL 634 requires 48 standards be met prior to being listed as level 2. Eight of these requirements for Level 2 include passing a switch assembly removal test, a magnetic field compromise test and an extended endurance test. UL 1203 is the UL Standard for Safety Explosion-Proof and Dust-Ignition-Proof Electrical Equipment for Use in Hazardous (Classified) Locations. HSI first received the UL 1203 certification in 2015 with the Spot On technology.
