The 2.000 by 1.110 by 0.645 in., <55 g MX from Memsense LLC, Rapid City, SD, is a 6 DOF inertial measurement unit (IMU) that combines triaxial accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers and supports sample rates up to 800 Hz. Sensors are corrected for bias, scale factor, and cross sensitivity. The IMU is available with triaxial gyros with dynamic ranges from ±50°/s to ±1200°/s and bias instability of <15°/hr.; a triaxial magnetometer with a dynamic range of ±1.9 gauss; and triaxial accelerometers with bias repeatability of <0.5 mg for the ±2 g input range. Two auxiliary analog inputs allow encoding of user signals; sync pulse facilitates GPS integration; and the 2 auxiliary digital inputs enable GPS synchronization. Applications include UAS, UGS, RPV, and missiles.
