The DVK90129 development kit from Proxima RF Technology Corp., Cheyenne, WY, allows you to experiment with Melexis' MLX90129 RFID-enabled sensor transponder that has an onboard antenna and that may be used as an inexpensive data logger. The kit includes a USB desktop HF RF reader, an XML-based API for sensors, demo tools, and the RFID-enabled sensor evaluation board with thermometer, light sensor, and potentiometer. The MLX90129 sensor transponder IC has an integrated 13.56 MHz HF inlay that combines reading sensor data with HF RFID tag identification. The HF RFID inlay can be used for batteryless, in situ, and point-in-time sensor reading or combined with a battery for data logging.
