The UFX flowmeter from Dynasonics, Racine, WI, is a handheld Doppler flowmeter that measures fluid velocities from 0.3–30.0 fps with a 100:1 turndown ratio. It operates on metal or plastic closed full pipes sized 6 mm and larger and that contain liquids with >100 ppm of 100 µm suspended solids or entrained gases. An 18 mm LCD displays readings in fps or m/s. Applications include dredging systems, crude oil, sludges, and waste slurries.
