Hall-Effect Current Sensor Rides I²C Bus

Hall-Effect Current Sensor Rides I²C Bus
Allegro MicroSystems Inc.

Suitable for apps operating below 100V, the ACS764 Hall-effect current sensor IC operates via an I²C bus. Factory programmed offset, gain, and temperature coefficients reduces total error to less than 2% over the operating temperature range. An integrated low resistance conductor eliminates the requirement for external shunt resistors and Hall-effect sensing technology eliminates the error associated with changing sense resistance due to temperature. The device supports 16 unique I²C bus addresses, selectable via external pins. Available in a 24-pin QSOP, price is $1.60 each/1,000.
