Frequency Analysis Software (FAS) from Galil Motion Control, Rocklin, CA, lets you tune servo control systems in the frequency domain. The software, when used in conjunction with a Galil motion controller, measures the frequency response of the plant to be controlled, simulates the possible control solutions, and synthesizes the two to enable Bode analysis of the closed-loop system. FAS plots the magnitude vs. frequency and phase vs. frequency for both the controller and the plant; the plant's frequency response is measured from the actual plant while the controller's response is simulated based on the selected control parameters. The software is available for DMC-41x3 Econo and DMC-40x0 Accelera motion controllers.
