Free Legal Advice; Reduced FPAAs

The Franklin Pierce Law Center recently opened its Intellectual Property (IP) and Transaction Clinic. Housed at The Law Center's Concord, NH, campus, the IP and Transaction Clinic offers no-charge legal advice regarding IP and commercial transactions to early-stage startups, SMEs, entrepreneurs, innovators, independent inventors, artists, agents, engineers, scientists, nonprofits, and accountants.



Clinic counselors are able to help clients in many ways, such as choosing the proper business entity for a new company; auditing the IP assets of a startup or ongoing concern; creating an IP asset licensing strategy; licensing an individual work; and interpreting an employer-employee agreement. While clients are responsible for paying all filing fees, such as U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration fees and local business registration fees, any legal advice received from the Center is at no charge to the client. Anadigm (www.anadigm.com) which calls itself "the programmable analog company," is lowering the price of its full-featured field-programmable analog array (FPAA) development kit, including development license, to $199—$300 off the standard price. Anadigm hopes the new price will allow designers to try FPAAs in their applications and move directly to production without paying any additional licensing fees.
