Flow Computer from Cox Instruments
Cox Instruments

The 4080 extended-range fluid compensation flowmeter interface from Cox Instruments, Scottsdale, AZ, provides total flow compensation to enhance flowmeter accuracy and extend linear flow range. The device tracks all variables to compensate for viscosity and temperature variations while developing a 200-point curve to represent the flowmeter output. Features include a DSP for signal characterization and <3 ms response, output in engineering units, ability to use a single device for multiple flow outputs, a GUI, and software that provides fluid selection, output configuration, and logging. Other features include turbine blade averaging, integral temperature and pressure amplifier, Roshko-Strouhal correlation using 10-bit resolution, and conformance to SAE ARP 4990 calculations.
