Bernard Controls, Gonesse, France, offers a Master Station fieldbus system designed to ease the command and control of a large number of motor-operated valves by using a fieldbus. The Master Station turnkey system uses Profibus DVP1 and combines PLC technology, full redundancy, and bus continuity. The device scans the entire installation in 1–3 s while being able to simultaneously send multiple orders. Generally located close to the field units, the Master Station provides a good access point for MOV data for maintenance engineers, allowing them to access data for valves' torque curves, number of travels, running time, alarm logs, and status of communication between devices.
