Extended Trim Range Power Modules Offer Unmatched Design Flexibility

Cork, Ireland -- Excelsys Technologies adds a new family of extended trim range powerMods to its existing UltiMod and Xgen platforms. The new modules, XgM XgN, XgP and XgQ, are available with nominal output voltages of 5V, 12V, 24V and 48V, respectively. Each module can be dynamically trimmed down to 1V; a feature that offers unparalleled flexibility for system designers who need dynamic control of output voltages over extreme voltage ranges. With output power levels ranging from 200W to 288W, these modules are especially well suited for use in a broad range of applications spanning the medical, industrial and Hi-Rel/MIL-COTS markets.

Complementing Excelsys’ existing range of powerMod products, the new extended trim range power modules can be used in any of the company’s UltiMod, Xgen-Ultra Quiet, Xgen-High Power or XF Hi Rel/Mil COTS modular platforms. Each of these platforms is certified to EN60950 for industrial applications, as well as EN60601-1 2nd and 3rd edition for medical applications. These certifications enable the modules to fully meet stringent creepage and clearance, 4KVAC isolation, and <300uA leakage current requirements. The module solutions are also compliant with the SEMI F47 semiconductor manufacturing standard to meet voltage dips and interruption requirements. And all Excelsys products are compliant with relevant EMC emission and immunity standards. Additionally, the new power modules deliver complete power supply efficiencies up to 92% and come with a five year warranty.

The XgM, XgN, XgP and XgQ powerMods can be connected in parallel or series for higher-current and higher-voltage solutions. They also feature -40°C start up. Typical medical applications for the extended trim range powerMods include lasers, and imaging and diagnostic equipment. Industrial applications include test and measurement, automation, robotics and printing.
