The MDS 4000 from
Jaquet Technology Group, Basel, Switzerland, provides online monitoring and diagnostics of engines with from 4–18 (and more) cylinders. The system captures and analyzes speed variations in engine rotation in relation to the software model of a given engine type. This allows real-time torque and total power output values to be available for display or for other control functions. Its CANbus interface allows data to be communicated with the ECU. The system can be configured to provide trend data in addition to alarm signals. The MDS 4000 is available in a half 19 in. rack, as a compact OEM module, or as an ASIC-based ECU extension.
