The MIL10 distance sensor consists of a sensing head and an adhesive magnetic tape. The non-contact magnetic sensing method is wear free and, as a result, provides virtually unlimited service life. Magnetic tape encoding is by poles measuring 2-mm wide. Signal processing integrated in the sensing head allows for resolutions up to 5 μm. The fully encapsulated magnetic sensor provides IP 66 and IP 67 as standard protection. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C. Measuring 10 mm x 15 mm x 45.5 mm, the sensor withstands shocks and vibrations up to 500g and 30 g, respectively.
