The ADIS16223 iSensor from Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), Norwood, MA, is a triple-axis, wide-bandwidth, embedded vibration sensor for manufacturing equipment condition monitoring. The device combines a MEMS accelerometer with signal processing, data capture, and an SPI interface. Features include 22 kHz sensor resonance, 72.9 Ksps sample rate, and a programmable digital filter with low- and band-pass configuration options. Dynamic range is ±70 g across three axes; frequency response is flat from DC to 10 kHz; and data capture has 3 trigger modes—automatic, manual, and event capture. Configuration options include condition monitoring/alarm settings, capture buffers control, and embedded self-test control.
