IRVING, TX /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EFJ Inc. announced that 3e Technologies International (3eTI) has received contracts totaling more than $2.3 million from the U.S. Navy to provide secure wireless communications for shipboard applications. 3eTI has received two incremental awards of $573,000 and $1.1 million to extend its force-protection and installation-management system for the U.S. Navy. Under a third award of $597,000, 3eTI will develop a maritime network solution for the U.S. Navy.

Several examples of contracts completed for the U.S. Navy in the past include developing a secure wireless sensor network to monitor the performance of shipboard equipment, critical area protection via video surveillance and chemical detection for Naval bases, and developing vessel-boarding inspection systems to help protect U.S. waters from threats posed by foreign ships carrying cargo to U.S. ports.
