EDMI, Wavecom launch AMI in Australia and New Zealand

Issy-les-Moulineaux, France -- Wavecom SA (NASDAQ: WVCM ; Eurolist AVM) announced the collaboration with EDMI Ltd. (Singapore Exchange: EDMI) for launching the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Australia and New Zealand markets.

As the utility industry continues to look for solutions that reduce both labor and high maintenance costs of metering, AMI solves this issue by efficiently managing meters remotely and at the same time helps with load and energy management. EDMI, a leading manufacturer of AMI systems, partners with Wavecom, a leader in industrial wireless technology to offers a complete, cost effective solution for the AMI market in Oceania.

EDMI Ltd., headquartered in Singapore, has chosen Wavecom's Wireless CPU to use in its advanced MK10 and MK 7 electronic energy meter to provide a wireless AMM solution for a leading utility in New Zealand. The 1st phase will involve rolling out 55,000 EDMI's meters with Wavecom-based wireless technology.
