Dual Die, Hall-Effect Angle Sensors Address Motor Position Applications

Dual Die, Hall-Effect Angle Sensors Address Motor Position Applications
Allegro MicroSystems

Primed for safety-critical automotive applications, the dual-die A1331 and A1334 angle sensor ICs are based on vertical Hall-effect technology. They are offered in TSSOP-24 packages that contain two individually sawn, electrically isolated silicon ICs. Onboard digital signal processing functions and EEPROM for factory and customer programmability makes the sensors suitable for on-axis/end-of-shaft angle sensing applications.

Other shared features include a 4-wire 10-MHz SPI interface with a 25 µs output refresh rate and a nominal signal path latency of 60 µs, 4.5V to 14.5 supply voltage range, power consumption of 10 mA maximum per die, and signal path and I/O diagnostics that meet ASIL safety requirements. The A1331 is priced at $3.40 and the A1334 is priced at $3.15 each/1,000.
