The ADXl206 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, is a high-precision, low-power, dual-axis iMEMS accelerometer with a ±5 g range and a guaranteed operating temperature range of -40°C to 175°C. The device measures both dynamic and static acceleration, provides signal-conditioned analog outputs, and features excellent overall stability, almost no quantization error or nonmonatonic behavior, temperature hysteresis of typically <2 mg over the –40°C to 175°C temperature range, 3500 g shock survival, 1 mg resolution at 60 Hz, and power consumption of <0.5 mA per axis. Suited for geological downhole tools and other extreme high-temperature industrial applications, The accelerometer's typical noise floor is 110 µg/√Hz.
