Dubbed the industry’s smallest, the ISL8203M dual 3A, single 6A step-down dc/dc converter power module measures 9.0 mm x 6.5 mm x 1.83 mm in a QFN package. It operates at 95% and includes a PWM controller, synchronous switching MOSFETs, inductors, and passive components. Supporting an input voltage range of 2.85V to 6V, output is adjustable between 0.8V and 5V. Other features include a 15°C/W thermal performance, the ability to deliver 6A at 85°C without heat sinks or a fan, digital soft-start (1.5 ms), external synchronization up to 4 MHz, and over-current protection.
