Kavlico Corp.
Diesel particulate filter (DPF) differential pressure sensors from Kavlico Corp., Moorpark, CA, are used with after-treatment systems to monitor particulate matter in diesel engine exhaust. The sensors communicate data to determine when the system should regenerate or burn out toxic exhaust particles from the DPF filter. The sensors use a ceramic capacitive sensing element and provide a linear amplified 0.5–4.5 VDC output proportional to pressure; pressure range from 0–750 mbar, 2 bar proof pressure; –40°C to 125°C operating temperature range; protection against EMI/RFI, reverse polarity, and short circuit; and the ability to withstand high-vibration environments in on- and off-highway vehicle applications.
