TRACO Power expands the THN 15/20/30 WI series 15W, 20W, and 30W dc/dc converters in the standard 1 in. x 1 in. x 0.4 in. package with ultra-wide 4-to-1 input ranges. The 5-Vout models with “-A1” suffix feature an extended trim range up to 6 Vdc. The extended trim function up to 6 Vdc makes the converters perfect for LDO regulator applications, reducing power losses over the LDO while eliminating almost all ripple and noise components and providing a clean 5-Vdc output voltage.
Other features include an input range of 9 to 36 / 18 to 75 Vin, a full-load operating temperature range from -40°C to +70°C (up to 105°C with derating), an input-to-output isolation of 1.6 kVDC, and a six-sided shielded metal case with an insulated base plate. All models are safety approved to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 and are qualified to meet EN 55032 Class A conducted emissions limits and will meet Class B limits with the addition of external components. Reliability is measured at >1.6 million hours per MIL-HDBK-2175.
