PORTLAND, OR - Ultra has introduced the first-ever wearable technology that measures an individual's accumulated ultraviolet (UV) dosage and effective vitamin D generation. Violet pairs with a mobile device (Android or iPhone) to provide real-time data on overall sun exposure.
Ultra serves health conscious individuals who are concerned about the detrimental effects of sun over-exposure (i.e. skin aging and skin cancer), as well as the risks of under-exposure, including vitamin D deficiency and depression. The device is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter until August 21st.

The device can be worn on a wrist, attached to an article of clothing or simply set within close proximity of the user. Each device can be configured for multiple users with personalized settings.
According to Wall Street Journal's May 2014 MarketWatch, the $3 billion global wearable computing market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 43.4 percent with more than $30.2 billion forecast for 2018.
