Cypress Semiconductor Selects Camstar's InSite

CHARLOTTE, NC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Camstar Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Manufacturing Execution and Quality Systems, announced that Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, a global provider of consumer, computation, data communications, automotive, and industrial solutions, has selected Camstar's InSite for its conventional and autoline facilities in Cavite, Philippines.

"A major reason that we adopted Camstar's InSite was the strategic launch of the 'factory of the future' at Cypress including next generation systems for backend semiconductor operations," said Don Mika, vice president of operations for Cypress. "It was imperative to have a system capable of supporting the complex test, assembly, and packaging requirements in both conventional backend lines and highly automated autolines, and that could be fully integrated into separate systems and equipment."

Other reasons for choosing Camstar's InSite were "its ease of application integration and configurability," according to Alan Hawse, vice president of information technology for Cypress. "InSite simplifies integration with Oracle and other business systems, as well as with our custom systems and programs. Having the capability to model our current requirements and the new demands of the future was a must. "

Rhett Ramos, IT manager at Cypress, views InSite as an application which allows for minimum risk during implementation rollout. "We look forward to a rapid transfer of knowledge so our internal IT staff can bring up new production lines and plants efficiently and independently," said Ramos.

"Technology Resources Group is delighted to be involved in the system deployment with Camstar and will leverage our extensive implementation experience to deliver full customer satisfaction," said Eng Tech Kong, managing director of technology resources group.

"InSite's substantial configurability and interoperability will be fundamental for Cypress' 'factory of the future'," said Morris St. Angelo, the managing director of Asia operations for Camstar. "We are looking forward to a rapid and efficient rollout and a promising ongoing relationship with Cypress Semiconductor Corporation."
