Current Sensors Deliver High Accuracy & Voltage Isolation

Current Sensors Deliver High Accuracy & Voltage Isolation
Allegro MicroSystems

For designs requiring both high accuracy and high voltage isolation, the ACS722 and ACS723 are bi-directional ±5A or uni-directional 10A sensor ICs for use in low power applications that require higher output swings at lower current. Typical apps include motor control, load detection and management, switched-mode power supplies, and over-current fault protection. Both devices integrate a precision, low-offset linear Hall sensor circuit with a copper conduction path near the surface of the die. Resistance of this path is 0.6 mΩ typical, ensuring low power losses. Conductive-path terminals are electrically isolated from the sensor leads, making the sensors suitable for use in high-side current sense applications without the use of high-side differential amplifiers or other isolation techniques. Additionally, both devices carry 2.4 kVRMS isolation certifications. Pricing for either device is $1.87 each/1,000. Datasheets for the ACS722 and ACS723, respectively, are available at:
