The V220 from Highland Technology Inc., San Francisco, CA, is a 12-channel VME module for use in 4–20 mA industrial control loop applications. Each of the 12 independently isolated and independently programmable channels can either source or measure voltage and current, simulating and measuring both controllers and transducers, and simulating open/short faults. It can also be used to simulate complex industrial processes to control systems under development and certification. Basic accuracy is 0.1%. Channel functions include 0–24 mA output using internal power source, 0–32 mA control with external loop power, 0–32 mA loop current measurement, 0–20 V voltage output with current measurement, voltage measurement, open circuit, and short circuit.
