COX Instruments Announces Flowmeter Calibration Center

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- COX Instruments, a supplier of precision flow measurement instrumentation for the world's most demanding applications, has announced the opening of an Asia/Pacific primary standard flowmeter calibration center. The NTK-COX calibration lab provides primary standard NIST-traceable liquid calibrations for all type of flow measurement devices, ranging from 0.01 to 300 GPM in fluids from 0.5 to 100 centistokes.

Common flowmeters calibrated at the new calibration center include: turbine, positive displacement, venturi/nozzle, rotameter, orifice plate, coriolis, ultrasonic, V-cone, vortex and variable area flowmeter (VAM). The facility offers liquid flowmeter calibration services meeting both end user and OEM production requirements.

The NTK-COX calibration center verifies flowmeter accuracy by comparing the meter-under-test with a primary flow standard traceable to a recognized international standard, such as the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The center's expert, COX-trained calibration service team takes into account key factors affecting flowmeter performance, such as orientation of the meter, operating temperature and pressure, and the type of the flow medium and viscosity.

The NTK-COX calibration service center utilizes advanced Flow Dynamics PDCL-10 and PDCL-300 primary standard flow calibrators with an uncertainty of ±0.05% of reading. These positive displacement calibrators precisely control the flow of liquid passing through the flowmeter-under-test, while monitoring fluid temperature.
