Compact Pressure Sensor Delivers Solid State Reliability

Compact Pressure Sensor Delivers Solid State Reliability
Measurement Specialties Inc.

With a 13-mm profile, the 85BC pressure sensor handles harsh applications including medical instruments, process control, fresh and waste water measurements, partial vacuum gas measurement, pressure transmitters, and tank level systems. Housed in a 316L stainless steel package that utilizes silicon oil to transfer pressure from the stainless steel diaphragm to the sensing element, the sensor is available in a weldable package or with a variety of standard threaded process fittings. These include 1/4 NPT, 1/8 NPT, and 1/4 BSP, with custom process fittings available upon request. A six-pad ceramic substrate containing laser-trimmed resistors is attached to the sensor package. An additional laser trimmed gain set resistor can be used to adjust an external differential amplifier and provide span interchangeability to within ±1% of the 75 mV to 150 mV span. Other notable features include a non-linearity of ±0.3% across its standard pressure ranges from 0-15 psi to 0-300 psi, compensated temperature range from -20°C to +85°C, typical zero pressure output of 100 mV, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Absolute and gage formats are available. For a datasheet, visit http://meas-spec.com/downloads/85_Series.pdf
