The RIO-47202 Pocket PLC from Galil Motion Control, Rocklin, CA, provides 400 lines of program memory, 254 symbolic variables, and 6 programmable PID loops. Additional features include 8 analog inputs, 16 optically isolated inputs, 16 optically isolated outputs, a 32-bit processor and nonvolatile memory for user programs, arithmetic and logical processing, process control loops, data logging, counters, and timers. Communication is via both Ethernet and RS-232 with support for Modbus TCP/IP as master and slave, a Web interface, and the ability to send email alerts. The device has screw-terminals, is 7.19 in. by 3.52 in. and is powered either via Power-over-Ethernet or from an external supply.
