OceanServer Technology Inc., Fall River, MA, offers 3-axis attitude sensors for OEM applications. The digital compasses feature soft-iron correction and can be installed in virtually any physical orientation relative to the customer's device. They incorporate triaxial magnetic sensors and triaxial accelerometers and are supplied in a 0.6 in. square board-mount package, 1 in. square versions that autodetect either USB or RS-232 connections, or a TTL-interface model. Features include 0.5° nominal accuracy, 0.1° resolution, ±180° roll, ±90° tilt, and electronically gimbaled tilt compensation. The compasses include a 50 MIPS processor that supports IEEE floating-point math, a 24-bit ADC, a programmable baud rate from 4800–115,000 baud, and Windows-compatible software.
