TagWell from SoftPLC Corp., Spicewood, TX, is a configurable platform for remote control system and asset management that uses cloud technologies and cellular communication. There are three components to a TagWell system. The TagWell platform is a secure, Internet-based platform that receives data from the company's RTUs and gateways. SoftPLC gateways enable remote communication between industrial controllers/equipment and TagWell and between TagWell and SCADA systems and provide alert notification and are equipped with cell modems, Ethernet, and serial ports. SoftPLC RTUs are industrial controllers that provide I/O monitoring and control. The TagWell user interface is a customer-specific Web page.
