Clearpath Robotics Wins Product Innovation Award

Canada --- Clearpath Robotics has won the 2017 IEEE Robotics and Automation Award for Product Innovation from the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS). The company was recognized specifically for their Jackal unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

Jackal UGV is a small, weather-proof mobile robotic platform designed for application development and rapid prototyping. Jackal UGV is durable, includes an easy-to-use mounting platform for sensors and payloads, and natively supports the open source Robot Operating System (ROS). These key features have led Jackal to be quickly adopted by researchers across a broad range of industries including mining, military, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Award for Product Innovation was established to identify companies which have made an innovative commercial product using robotics and automation science and technology. Factors considered by judges include the significance of the innovation, creativity, technical merit, originality and the potential impact in the field of the product.

The award will be announced and presented in May at the annual IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) in Singapore.
