Cirronet to Showcase M2M Technology at Sensors Expo 2007

ATLANTA /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- Cirronet Inc. (a subsidiary of RF Monolithics Inc. (RFM) announces its exhibit at the Sensors Expo Conference in Rosemont, IL, June 11–13, 2007, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. The exhibit will include a broad range of Cirronet's wireless sensor networking solutions and RFM's Virtual Wire short-range radio and RFIC devices, which provide sensor data collection for a wide variety of applications. As a demonstration of the capabilities, Cirronet will showcase the Cooper Bussmann Cooper InVision Downtime Reduction System, an M2M condition-monitoring application that uses Cirronet's wireless technology in a custom-built wireless monitoring solution.

At the heart of the Cooper InVision solution is a custom wireless sensor network developed by Cirronet that includes battery-powered, intelligent fuse sensor modules reporting through a robust, self-healing wireless mesh network. The Cooper InVision solution identifies an open-circuit event via the intelligent fuse sensor module and then transmits notification of the open-circuit event over the mesh network to a Web-based monitoring application that sends an urgent maintenance work-order request. The Cooper InVision solution has shown 99.999% event transmission reliability even in the most extreme environments.

The RFM products exhibited include: 1) Virtual Wire short-range radio devices based on RFM's ultra-low-power, proprietary amplifier-sequenced hybrid (ASH) radio architecture and are available in 303.825 MHz, 315 MHz, 418 MHz, 433.92 MHz, 868.35 MHz, 914 MHz, and 916.5 MHz license-free bands, and 2) RFIC products that include PLL-based, single- or multi-channel transceiver, transmitter, and receiver products and evaluation boards available in 300-1000 MHz license-free bands.
