The Cellular Bridge from FreeWave Technologies, Boulder, CO, lets you deploy hybrid wireless networks that combine one of the company's radios with a cellular modem to reduce infrastructure costs and cellular network connection fees and to make it easier to deploy a radio network in a new development situation. The device combines CDMA- and GSM-based technologies for SIM and non-SIM-based cellular systems and proprietary radios operating at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz. It features 12–24 VDC input range, external serial port, terminal server ports, and the ability to act as a tower replacement module by adding a cellular connection to overcome LOS issues. The wireless data radios enable greater coverage in remote areas where cellular technology may not have a strong signal.
