Capacitive Displacement Sensors from Lion

Lion Precision, St. Paul, MN, has completed a mechanical redesign of its capacitive displacement sensor probes to improve long-term drift and resolution. The highest resolution models can now achieve resolution of 0.05 nm. The new probes are offered in 3 mm, 5 mm, 8 mm, and 3/8 in. diameters and with axial and radial cable exits; flat, rectangular packages are also available. The probes work with several models of electronic drivers. Applications include semiconductor, disk drive, precision bearing, and micromachining industries.
