The Model 2266 from Silicon Designs Inc., Kirkland, WA, is a high-precision MEMS variable capacitive accelerometer with a 4-wire snap-in removable connector to let you more easily exchange, move, reposition, and replace accelerometers in a given test setup. Tailored for zero-to-medium frequency applications, the sensor features standard ranges of 2 g to 400 g; integral amplification; high-drive, low-impedance buffering; 2 analog voltage outputs; support for single-ended and differential modes; sensitivity independent from the 8–32 V supply voltage; and operation after sustained exposures of up to 10,000 g shock and limited exposure to temperatures >200°C. Applications include wind turbines, aircraft flutter testing, train testing, vehicle suspension testing, road tests and general drivetrain testing, and automotive and aerospace NVH.
