The M150 from Celesco Transducer Products Inc., Chatsworth, CA, is a cable extension transducer with a 1.5 in. range and a 0.74 by 0.74 by 0.38 in. aluminum body. The 0.014 in. dia. nylon-coated SS cable is fully retractable and attaches to the object under motion. As the cable extends, the internal spring-loaded spool turns the transducer's potentiometer and it (when connected to a voltage source) produces a voltage directly proportional to the position of the measuring cable. Expected life cycle is at least 5 million cycles.
