Buck Controller Supports High Current Designs
Intersil Corp.

According to its creator, the ISL78268 55V synchronous buck controller with integrated 3A high- and low-side drivers is the most versatile high-voltage buck solution available. Its high step-down efficiency makes the device suitable for a wide variety of high-current designs with load currents ranging from under 5A to over 25A. Specs and features include a 55V input tolerance (60V maximum), average current limiting, adaptive dead-time control, selectable diode emulation and burst mode for light loads, an adjustable switching frequency from 50 kHz to 1.1 MHz, and a shutdown current of 3 µA Available in a 24-lead, 4 mm x 4 mm QFN package, pricing starts at $2.45 each/1,000. An evaluation kit, the ISL78268EVAL1Z, is available for $83.33 each. A datasheet is available at http://www.intersil.com/content/dam/Intersil/documents/isl7/isl78268.pdf
