Bosch Debuts Most Energy Efficient Dishwashers in US

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bosch, the appliance manufacturer known worldwide for setting industry standards in quietness and energy/water efficiency, introduces its new line-up of Evolution and Integra dishwashers, featuring the quietest most energy efficient models in the country: the Evolution SHE98 and Integra SHX98. Both models exceed the minimum federal energy standard by 147% with a yearly usage of only 190 kWh and use approximately the same amount of energy as a dishwasher half its size. The Evolution and Integra line-ups also offer a variety of convenience and efficiency options clearly structured into three classes—the 300, 500 and 800 Series—giving consumers a myriad of choices in selecting the model best suited for their lifestyles.

"We are proud to continue our superior legacy in energy efficiency with our new premium Integra and Evolution dishwasher models," said Franz J. Bosshard, president and CEO. "The new Evolution and Integra Series embody what Bosch dishwashers are known for: the most advanced dishwashing systems with intuitive controls that make it simple to achieve sparkling clean dishes while saving time, water and energy."

As the only manufacturer with entire product lines of ENERGY STAR qualified refrigeration, laundry and dishwashers, Bosch continues to create advancements that boost energy and water savings. Bosch's ECOOPTION, on select 500 and 800 Series models, take energy efficiency to the next level by reducing energy consumption by up to an additional 25%—with just the simple push of a button. Joining this exclusive, is the new ECOSENSE Wash Management System, which examines the soil level in the water via an infrared light beam and customizes the wash cycle accordingly with 48 different options. A new Half Load option allows consumers to run the dishwasher half full, thus reducing the time, water and energy by 30%. Furthermore, the QUICKWASH program (500 and 800 Series) offers an abbreviated, energy-conscious cycle for smaller loads or less soiled dishes and is the fastest 30 minute option in the industry. These systems, along with other efficiency advancements, ensure that Bosch dishwashers use as little as 1.8 gallons of water per cycle while guaranteeing optimal wash results.

Evolution Dishwashers
The new Evolution collection, with visible controls and displays, offers six model options that deliver the ultimate in safety and convenience. Beyond being one of the two most energy efficient dishwashers on the market, the top-of-the-line SHE98 (800 Series) also provides nine wash cycles and a 42 dB quietness level. Additionally, this model features the Sanitize Option, which results in the elimination of 99.9% of bacteria, and a fully automated Load Sensor to customize the cycle to the weight and amount of the dishes. The SHE68 (800 Series) offers the ECOOPTION and Half Load feature.

Integra Dishwashers
The Integra collection, with seven different models available, is known for its extreme quietness and aesthetically pleasing concealed control panel design. One of the two most energy efficient dishwashers on the market, complimenting the Bosch Evolution SHE98, the new top-of-the-line SHX98 (800 Series) offers nine wash cycles, the Sanitize option and operates at only 42 dBs.

Also, a special Integra model with a convenient external display, which allows consumers to monitor the progress of the dishwasher since it runs so silently, is now available. Additionally, Bosch offers a 500 Series model that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Across the board, Bosch's new dishwashers are also the quietest in each category, with premium models boasting a 42 dB sound level—the quietest in the industry. In fact, they are virtually undetectable while running. Another convenient advancement is VARIOWASH, which is a customized spray system that adjusts the water pressure to be gentle on glass and china yet tough on pots and pans. A larger capacity silverware basket, an easy grip rack handle and an anti-tarnish silverware cassette, which protects expensive silver cutlery, are also new to this line-up.

The new dishwasher lineup continues to offer the Bosch exclusives that consumers, designers, and builders appreciate. These include the stainless steel TALLTUB for superior durability and dependability and Condensation Drying to hygienically dry dishes. To protect against leaks and costly mold damage, all Bosch dishwashers feature the AQUASTOP system, a solution that automatically shuts the dishwasher off should it detect water in the base of the unit.
