Bluetooth Temperature Sensor Makes Stylish Statement

Blue Maestro

Relying on a Nordic Semiconductor nRF51822 system-on-chip (SoC), the 'Tempo' Bluetooth-based temperature sensor from Blue Maestro comes in a sleek, highly polished polycarbonate pebble-shaped casing that looks and feels like a stylish ornament. The Tempo enables an operating range up to 250 ft. (75m) maximum and the low-power SoC allows for a battery life of one year. In a nutshell, the Tempo sensor allows consumers to measure and monitor air or water temperature anywhere with a smartphone. Each Tempo records temperature once every two seconds and records it in memory once an hour over 24 hours. Users not-in-range can track the temperature behavior when they are next in range through a free Android or iOS app. The app will provide alerts at pre-set temperature thresholds even when running in the background.
