The Solo Volt from Solidica Inc., Ann Arbor, MI, measures voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, and life remaining on individual batteries or sets of batteries, ranging from 3–40 V each. A single module can monitor up to 6 batteries simultaneously while operating in ultra-low power consumption mode. Additionally, the battery-agnostic design makes the device compatible with multiple battery types-disposable and/or rechargeable, single or multiple cells. Features include a vehicle network interface (SAE CAN); wireless communications (802.11b/g WiFi, 802.15.4, and Bluetooth); accessory and peripheral identification and control; continuous data, trend, and event logging; a real-time clock; built-in security; resettable fuses; built-in power supply; and proprietary battery health algorithms.
